Is Counselling and Psychotherapy confidential?
The confidentiality of what you tell me is an important part of your safety. Therefore I will keep in confidence the content of our work together.
There are, however, certain legal and ethical exceptions by which I am bound, and which we will clarify together before we agree a contract to work together.
How do I arrange to see you?
Contact me and leave a confidential message on 01377 288286 for me to phone you back.
You may also email me on the above link for us to set up an initial telephone conversation for us each to ask a few questions.
We will find a mutually convenient day and time to meet to discuss what you are looking for and if I am the appropriate therapist for you to work with for the issue that concerns you.
How will we agree to work?
After you have explained your reasons for coming, I will want to know what you want to get from your therapy, so that we can be clear and agree on the focus of our work and what is your goal.
For how many sessions will I need to come?
Each person is unique, bringing their own individual personality, issues and goals. The length of time needed will therefore be up to you. We will discuss at our first meeting, whether your needs will best be met with long- or short-term work, and what options you have.
How often will I need to come?
Sessions are usually weekly.
I normally see individual clients for 50 minutes.
A couple's session is usually for 1 hour 20 minutes.
How much do you charge?
